Have you noticed lately the resurgence of burger places in NYC?  Astoria is not immuned to this phenomenom.  I've always loved Jackson Hole burgers unadulterated beef burger.  Recently, the well known Manhattan burger joint 5 Napkin Burger opened in what was the old Cup Diner.   I tried their original 5 Napkin Burger this past Sunday night.  I ordered it medium well.  To my delight, the burger was cooked just as I ordered and promptly came to the table.  The service was top notched.  The burger looked and tasted good.  The gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, and rosemary aioli gives it a unique taste.  Certainly different from your good ole american burger.  The restaurant has a nice ambience and is nicely decorated.  Definitely a place where you take someone you want to impress.  The impressive long bar is inviting and would be a great place to hang out after work.  Five Napkin Burger is located on 35-01 36th Street.

    I don't know who Pat is...but I certainly owe him an apology...I usually do medium rare...but it was late, I was tired, I didn't know the place, yada yada yada....I really don't have an excuse...I'm sorry..promise to order properly next time .
