Just a short drive from Astoria is Acme. Located on Gem Street in Greenpoint, this New York City institution has been serving up smoked fish to its loyal fans every Friday. On other days, you can find their products in local supermarket. I know they sell them locally in the LIC Costco and in Keyfood. I visit Acme every other week when I can. It's a convenient drive from Astoria and parking is not bad on non-holidays.
