Plus 1 for Hand Guards

I'm glad I decided not to take off my hand guards for the warm riding season. I had a bit of a spill this morning as I made a left turn in to 21st Street. I guess the upgrade I did with my carburetors in combination with new rear tires and a slippery road got the best of me. The rear of my bike just slid right from under me when I hit the throttle.

I was able to hold on to the bike and jump off just in time as to not get my left leg caught under the bike. The hand guards were very helpful in softening the impact as the left handlebar hit the pavement.

The bike suffered some damage. I need a new clutch lever, a gear shift rod, and as you can see from the photo below a new bar end cover.
